Kristy Knopp
I grew up in the tiny little town of Kingston, Washington and moved to Bellingham in 1997, I absolutely love living in Whatcom County. My husband Robert, of 16 years and I have four kids, Ashleigh, Parker, Payton and Anders. As a family we enjoy cooking (anything and everything,) camping, swimming, and love traveling to Mexico and Central America to enjoy learning and participating in the culture of others’ lives. At home a typical weekend may include a morning trail run with friends, an afternoon of games and pranks with my family, most likely a delicious spicy jalapeno margarita (or two) and a dose of football with a sprinkle of reality tv.
I have 20 years of experience in the restaurant and bookkeeping world, from owning a restaurant with 65 employees, creating a catering company and doing all of the in between from scrubbing, training, facilitating and implementing, customer service to payroll and accounting. From 2004-2014 my husband and I owned and operated Billy McHale’s restaurant in Bellingham. That experience has given me so much appreciation for what it takes to make a business run and a true understanding of hard work, dedication and tenacity.
I love living in and walking next to innovated, strong businesses and their leaders. Watching others achieve their goals and celebrate their successes is such an exciting part of my job.
